Welcome to the Artlist & Artgrid Edit Challenge

After watching all the inspiring videos you created for the B-roll Challenge and the Showreel Contest, we are launching a new competition, and it’s our biggest one yet.

Welcome to the Edit Challenge – a contest that focuses on creators’ ability to tell an inspiring story using Artgrid stock footage and Artlist royalty-free music. $35k worth of prizes will be awarded to 10 of the contest participants, highlighted by 3 Blackmagic Pocket 4K cameras, Zhiyun Gimbals and DJI Mini Mavic drones given to the 1st-place winners of the contest’s three categories.

Winners will also receive high-quality filmmaking gear from some of the best manufacturers out there, including our sponsors Zhiyun, MSI, Spiffy Gear, Westcott, Røde microphones, Lume Cube, Red Giant and Quasar Science and more prizes.

Categories

The contest is divided into three categories:

• Ad
• Movie Trailer
• Music Video

In the Ad category, participants will need to create a commercial for a fictional brand that’s up to 30 seconds long using Artgrid footage and Artlist music.

The Movie Trailer category challenges you to create a fictional movie trailer that’s no longer than 1:30 minutes using Artgrid footage and Artlist music.

In the Music Video category, the challenge is to create a music video using Artgrid stock footage for an Artlist song that does not exceed 5 minutes. Choose one category and start creating!

Prizes

There will be 3 winners in each category as well as a prize for the Judges’ Favorite.

They will evaluate your submissions according to the following criteria:

• Storytelling
• Editing skills
• Creative use of music
• Originality
• Bonus points go for uploading the video with timeline breakdown on Instagram

Contest Rules

Other than using Artgrid footage and Artlist music, there are pretty much no limitations – just be creative and inspiring.

The contest begins on August 20th, and all Contest entries must be uploaded to YouTube by September 20th with the hashtag #AGeditchallenge in the title.

We will announce the winners on October 5th.

BTW, the Edit Challenge is open to EVERYONE, not only to Artlist and Artgrid subscribers. If you don’t have an account on one or both of these platforms, just sign up as a trial member and use watermarked versions of the footage and of the songs.
