More about Tim McGlinchey

Tim McGlinchey is a filmmaker, lecturer, scriptwriter and stock footage shooter based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He now writes blogs, too.

In 2015, after completing an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology (for some reason), Tim began a Masters in Film at Queen’s University Belfast with a keen interest in scriptwriting. During this time, however, he also discovered a love for cinematography and editing and soon launched a solo videography business – Lightly Salted Productions.

In this capacity, Tim produced a variety of content ranging from social media advertisements to music videos, wedding videos and short narrative films. Around this time, Tim was also invited by Artlist.io to produce stock footage for their upcoming platform, Artgrid.io, which had yet to be launched.

In 2018, Tim became a lecturer at Northern Ireland’s leading film school, where he specializes in teaching cinematography, scriptwriting and editing. Since beginning teaching, Tim has used his spare time to expand his catalog of stock footage for Artgrid, as well as write and direct short films.

Currently, he is completing post-production on his largest project yet, a psychological thriller titled Khora. The film has brought together the expertise of over 50 eager students across his college from film, music, VFX and even construction courses to contribute to the production, which otherwise has a shoestring budget.

It is Tim’s hope that this film redeems his reputation after a heart-breaking 4th place finish in the Artlist B-Roll Challenge back in 2020. This 30-second reversed pizza b-roll video took over a week to complete, and severely tested the patience of his wife who spent more time throwing onions into the air than she would have ever agreed to.

You can contact Tim via Instagram, find his stock footage on Artgrid, and watch whatever else he decides to make on his YouTube channel.
